Mid-Autumn Festival has always been about looking up at the same moon as everyone you love, no matter how far apart you are. That sense of togetherness is exactly what 黑珍珠 The Black Pearl has captured in this year’s mooncake collection, 天境之珠 The Celestial Pearl. Named after the moon’s pearlescent glow, the collection brings together four mooncake creations that balance tradition with a more contemporary palate.

Whether you’re planning ahead for family reunion dinners, corporate hampers, or simply gifting mooncakes to someone you appreciate, this collection offers a thoughtful mix of familiar comfort and fresh flavour. Each set arrives in a mother-of-pearl-inspired keepsake case, designed to be treasured long after the mooncakes themselves are gone.

Four Flavours Worth Discovering

This year’s lineup features an entirely new set of baked mooncake flavours, each with its own personality:

  • Baked Custard Filling with Egg Yolk 焗香奶皇咸蛋黄月饼 – A creamy, light custard centre wrapped in low-sugar white lotus seed paste, finished with a gold-dusted charcoal crust. This one’s for the traditionalists who want a familiar favourite done well.
  • Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk 双黄低糖白莲蓉月饼 – Smooth white lotus paste paired with two rich, savoury egg yolks. A gentler take on sugar levels without losing the indulgence.
  • Longjing with Pumpkin Seeds 龙井茶香南瓜子月饼 – Premium Longjing tea infused into low-sugar white lotus paste, with pumpkin seeds adding a satisfying crunch. Best enjoyed alongside a warm cup of the same tea.
  • Purple Sweet Potato with Milk Lotus 紫薯奶香莲蓉月饼 – Earthy purple sweet potato meets creamy milk lotus paste, with subtle roasted chestnut notes running through it.

Each flavour has been developed to appeal to different preferences at the table, from the classic egg custard lover to those who prefer something a touch more delicate.

A Keepsake That Outlasts the Festival

What sets this collection apart isn’t just what’s inside the box. The case itself is finished in deep purple with iridescent accents that shift subtly under light, echoing the quiet glow of a full moon. Oriental floral and lunar motifs run across the design, tying back to themes of reunion and harmony that define the festival. A petite stainless steel knife is also included, making it effortless to slice and share the mooncakes with loved ones.

Once the mooncakes have been enjoyed, the suede-lined case is sturdy enough to be repurposed for storage or display, making it a memento that lingers well past September.
